Everette Holland Griffin and Edith Pittman Griffin Memorial Scholarship

The Griffin Memorial Scholarship is for (1) students from Western Tidewater, with a preference for residents of Isle of Wight County, or (2) students with visual and/or hearing impairment from anywhere in South Hampton Roads (with a preference for students from Western Tidewater) to attend primary, secondary or post-secondary educational institutions. Recipients will be required to submit documentation confirming their status as legally deaf or blind if applicable. Students applying for undergraduate scholarships may apply online. Parents of deaf or blind students interested in scholarships for private primary and secondary school should contact the Foundation for an application. Financial need is required.

Please note that Western Tidewater includes the following localities: Isle of Wight County, Southampton County, Franklin and Suffolk.

Please upload documentation from a licensed otologist, audiologist, hearing specialist, ophthalmologist or optometrist that includes your diagnosis AND a description of your abilities including functional limitation, the status of your hearing or vision (static or changing), and the use of hearing aids, corrective lenses or ongoing visual therapy. The name, address and telephone number of the diagnostician must be included.
