Our Opportunities

  • Visit the Foundation’s website BEFORE starting an application to find out what materials you will need to gather and for tips on using this scholarship portal.
If you currently receive a renewable, need-based scholarship from the Foundation, you MAY NOT apply for additional awards. Students typically do not receive more than one scholarship from the Foundation at one time. Click here for information on when it’s acceptable for a current recipient to reapply.
Financial need is a criterion for ALL graduate level scholarships and MOST undergraduate scholarships, and SUBMISSION OF FINANCIAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED. If you do not want to provide financial information, make sure you are eligible for at least one of the six merit-only undergraduate scholarships BEFORE beginning the application process. Click here to see a list of merit-based scholarships.
  • Most scholarships are restricted to students from South Hampton Roads (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Isle of Wight County). If your hometown is in another locality, you are only eligible for scholarships that specifically indicate that students can be from the Peninsula, Eastern Shore or elsewhere. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Please read each description carefully to determine your eligibility. Unless otherwise noted applicants must enroll in an accredited, four-year, nonprofit college or university. Most scholarships are renewable and available for up to four years of study unless otherwise noted.
  • This application must be completed by the student. Assistance from parents/guardians should be limited to the financial section of the application.
